Happy New Year Dinner @ Mako Fuegos y Vinos with a 7 course meal. It was fantastic! MatĂas Villalba, the chef and owner greeted us and served us the first course. He wanted to make sure the lady who didnât eat beef was happy with his choices for her (me). He and about twenty other ppl in the front house waited on us with the best service Iâve ever received in a restaurant. The food was fantastic and a great representation of what hard work and care can do for an experience in a restaurant. I vote for you to get a Michelin Star.â Thank you for your kindness on top of the amazing food.

We stumbled upon this place by accident, and weâre so glad we did. This upscale dining experience ended up being one of the best weâve had in Argentina. The food is clearly crafted by talented chefs- each bite felt thoughtfully curated and executed to perfection. Having lived in Japan, we have a soft spot for corn soup, and theirs was a beautifully elevated take on a favorite. And as a Puerto Rican, empanadas are close to my heart; the wago empanadas here were absolutely delicious. The steaks and purĂ©ed potatoes were wonderfully cut, and cooked. The meat was not seasoned however, they provide salt, chimichurri and salsa so you can have it flavored the way each individual likes. We ended our meal with the chocolate volcĂĄn, which was decadent and exactly what we were craving. We were grateful to be seated without a reservation, though Iâd definitely recommend making one. The restaurant is stunning yet never feels stuffy or pretentious. We had just come from hiking and werenât sure if our clothes would be too casual for such an elegant spot, but we were welcomed warmly and the service was truly top-notch. While the prices are higher, the quality and elevated dining experience make it well worth it.
It looks like a fancy restaurant but the price is actually reasonable for the quality of food and time you spend to enjoy the atmosphere, service, and meal. They also served very nice complimentary as a starter for us. I loved that they put our steak on the hot stone and served it by portion. If Iâm back in El Calafate, Iâll come back to eat here again.
5 stars â Best Dining Experience in El Calafate! We recently dined here and it was hands-down the best meal weâve had in El Calafate â an absolutely amazing restaurant that exceeded every expectation. From the moment we walked in, the place felt spotless and impeccably clean. The atmosphere is wonderfully chill and relaxing, made even better by the live music playing softly during dinner. It created the perfect backdrop for a memorable evening. But the food⊠wow. In a word: AMAZING! We ordered the Wagyu Ribeye with mixed vegetables and potatoes, and everything was cooked to absolute perfection. The presentation was beautiful â almost too pretty to eat â and the flavors were truly beyond our expectations. Tender, juicy, and seasoned just right; every bite was a delight. If youâre in El Calafate, do yourself a favor and book a table here. Highly recommended â we canât wait to come back on our next trip!
We planned our last night in Patagonia here. What a fantastic place. We were immediately served complementary sparkling wine and delicious trout mousse. The Wagyu empanadas and sharing appetizer board were phenomenal. We shared the lamb and Patagonian steak with the chef's salad and we're beyond satisfied and far too full to contemplate dessert. Overall, the food was amazing and the service and atmosphere both exceptional. I would disagree with some other reviewers that it was overpriced - we paid far less than we would back home for a comparable experience (Canada).
The restaurant is gorgeous! The service was amazing. We couldnât be happier to have celebrated our wedding there. Chef Matias serves love in the form of food, and Christian, the sommelier, gave us one of the most incredible experiences weâve ever had. Just go â itâs worth every moment! It was a spectacular dinner!
Definitely one of the nicest places in town for an over the top gourmet meal. Service and ambiance is exceptional, paired with live music. The food is great, however there is a lot of "fluff" to make it pretty which I found tasteless and bland in addition to it being used over and over almost on every dish. Aside from that, the actual food was delicious.
